Mail-in and absentee ballots
Massachusetts allows no-excuse mail-in voting for local elections under the VOTES Act. Application forms are available from the Town Clerk. Apply early. Mailed ballots must be received by the Town Clerk by close of polls on May 19 to be counted.
Bring ID
Massachusetts does not require photo ID to vote, but if it's your first time voting in Yarmouth, or if your registration is flagged inactive, bring a driver's license, utility bill, or other ID with your current address.
How to vote NO
On the ballot, find Question 4. The question reads:
"Do you, as a citizen of the Town of Yarmouth, support the Constitutional rights of all Yarmouth residents which guarantee equal protection of the laws to all people, regardless of nationality, citizenship or immigration status?"
Mark NO.
You are not voting against equal protection. Equal protection is already binding under the U.S. Constitution, the Massachusetts Constitution, and existing state and federal civil rights statutes. Voting NO means Yarmouth declines to issue a symbolic resolution that produces no new local rights and creates real federal funding risk.
